Afghanistan’s Snowboard Athletes on the Brink of History in Their First Major Winter Sports Event 
Yesterday, Afghanistan’s national snowboard team finally returned to international competition after a two-year absence. The team, consisting of three athletes, two officials, and representatives from the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee, is now gathering in China.
Two athletes have already arrived and begun their training sessions in Harbin ahead of the official competition and opening ceremony, preparing to represent Afghanistan with pride. The third athlete will also join them soon, though there have been some delays due to visa and documentation issues. Despite this, both the snowboard team and the National Olympic Committee are pleased that the full team will be assembled.
The Olympic leadership delegation, including the president and secretary-general, will also be present at this historic event. This marks the first time Afghanistan’s winter sports athletes are participating in such a competition under the guidance and coordination of the National Olympic Committee.
Competition Schedule and the Significance of Afghanistan’s Presence
The event is set to take place from February 7 to February 14, bringing together Asia’s top winter athletes under the coordination of global sports federations. While Afghanistan’s primary goal in this competition is to gain experience and make history, this participation paves the way for future Afghan athletes to follow.

ورزشکاران اسنوبورد کشور در آستانه تاریخسازی در اولین رویداد مهم زمستانی افغانستان
روز گذشته، تیم اسنوبورد افغانستان پس از دو سال دوری از رقابتهای بینالمللی، سرانجام برای حضور در میدان رقابت عازم شد. این تیم متشکل از سه ورزشکار، دو عضو هیئت، و نمایندگان رهبری کمیته ملی المپیک افغانستان است که در حال حاضر در چین گرد هم میآیند.
دو ورزشکار تیم، پس از رسیدن به چین، تمرینات خود را پیش از آغاز مسابقات و مراسم افتتاحیه در شهر هاربین انجام دادهاند تا آمادگی لازم را کسب کنند و نمایندگی شایستهای از کشور داشته باشند. سومین ورزشکار نیز به زودی به تیم ملحق خواهد شد، اما به دلیل برخی مشکلات فنی در ویزا و مدارک، کمی تأخیر در پیوستن او وجود دارد. با این حال، تیم اسنوبورد و کمیته ملی المپیک افغانستان از تکمیل ترکیب تیم ابراز خرسندی کردهاند.
هیئت رهبری المپیک افغانستان، متشکل از رئیس و دبیر کل، نیز در این رویداد تاریخی حضور دارند. این نخستین بار است که ورزشکاران زمستانی افغانستان، با هماهنگی و راهنمایی کمیته ملی المپیک کشور، در چنین رقابتی شرکت میکنند.

حضور این تیم، با وجود چالشهای فراوان اجتماعی و سیاسی، نشاندهنده ایستادگی و تلاش ورزشکاران افغانستان است. حمل پرچم سهرنگ کشور توسط این ورزشکاران، نماد تعهد، همبستگی و مقاومت در برابر نابرابریهای اجتماعی است.
